The leader is the card that represents the player in the game. A leader is a kind of character and all leaders are commanders. There are a number of game rules associated with leaders:
- A player may not play actions of any kind if they do not control a leader.
- If at any time that the stack is empty there is exactly one leader left in the game, its controller wins the game.
- If at any time that the stack is empty there are no leaders left in the game, the game is ended as a draw.
Leaders can be destroyed in any way a character could be. For instance, by dealing damage, or by not pay their cost during the restore phase.
Leader cards are illegal in decks and may only be put into play at the beginning of the game.
